Some of the largest local health care groups — also some of the region’s largest employers — named new leaders in recent months.

Here’s four names you should know:

1. Erhardt Preitauer, CareSource CEO

CareSource announced Wednesday that Preitauer, outgoing CEO of Horizon NJ Health, will succeed the nonprofit insurer's CEO Pamela Morris, who is retiring in May.

Preitauer now leads the state’s largest Medicaid plan with more than $6 billion in revenue and 1 million members, and he will join CareSource on May 1.

“He has an impressive background in leading government sponsored health plans and he has a proven history with mission-driven organizations with a holistic focus on the member,” stated Kevin Brown, chairperson of CareSource Management Group Board. CareSource reported $8.8 billion in revenue in 2017 and more than 4,000 employees, including about 2,000 downtown Dayton employees.

2. Terry Burns, Kettering Medical Center president

Burns was named president of Kettering Medical Center and executive vice president of Kettering Health Network starting in November. Burns took the helm at one of Kettering's largest employers and also the flagship hospital under the umbrella of the $1.6 billion Kettering Health Network.

Burns held executive roles in the network since 2001, most recently as the chief financial officer of Kettering Medical Center and executive vice president of Kettering Health Network since November 2015.

3. Michael Maiberger, Miami Valley Hospital president

Maiberger, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Premier Health, in January assumed a dual role as the president of Miami Valley Hospital. Maiberger now leads the largest hospital in the region and flagship hospital of Premier Health, which as a network reported $1.8 billion in revenue in 2016. Maiberger's 25 years of experience includes stints as chief value officer, chief strategy officer and president and CEO of Upper Valley Medical Center.

4. Jill Dietrich, Dayton VA Medical Center director

Dietrich is taking over as the new director of the Dayton VA Medical Center and will be the first female director in the Dayton VA's 150-year history. She most recently served in Washington DC VA Medical center in roles including acting deputy director and acting associate director from May 2017 to February 2018. The Indiana native holds law and business degrees from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland.
