Technicians are trained in testing, monitoring, treating and servicing pools and can provide recurring service as well as help at the beginning and end of the summer season.
What makes Ohio such an appealing state in which to develop are the more than 150,000 pools here, according to Michael Wagner, president for the company, which is part of Virginia-based Buzz Franchise Brands.
Company officials analyzed data and identified five territories between Cincinnati and Dayton as favorable for its brand, especially the 45011 and 45013 ZIP codes.
“Everything we do is about mapping,” Wagner said. “We’re really focused on single-family homes with … in-ground pools and incomes above $75,000. Those are our target customers.”
Those two Hamilton-based ZIP codes, which also include Fairfield Twp. and a portion of Liberty Twp., are “by far the best” in terms of demographics, Wagner said, because there are nearly 4,000 of those kind of target households there.
“You can service a lot of homes without driving a lot,” he said.
Other ZIP codes the franchise is targeting encompass the communities of Fairfield, Middletown, Oxford, Okeana, Somerville and Trenton and include more than 7,300 target households, Wagner said.
Other territories include Monroe, Lebanon, Mason, Deerfield Twp., Maineville, Oregonia and South Lebanon, plus the Greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas, he said.
Pool Scouts is looking to establish one territory per year in southwest Ohio starting in 2017, with a franchisee maximum of three territories.
