Restaurant to offer free lasagna today

Fazoli’s in the area today are offering free twice-baked lasagna with the purchase of any drink to celebrate National Lasagna Day.

“Lasagna is a favorite Italian dish among millions of Americans,” said Jon Quinn, Vice President of Marketing at Fazoli’s. “This is comfort food at its heart and soul and families can come celebrate with us and savor their favorite meal. Our Twice-Baked Lasagna pairs really well with our signature all you can eat breadsticks, making National Lasagna Day an event more than just another meal.”

To participate in National Lasagna Day and claim the offer, people need to visit Fazoli's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/fazolis, to download the coupon to redeem at their local restaurant.

Fazoli’s CEO Carl Howard — a native of Kettering and a 1983 graduate of Fairmont East High School — has been credited with helping turn around the struggling chain since his appointment as CEO in 2008. The chain has used the Dayton market to test new menu items and opened its seventh location on Miller Lane in Butler Twp. in August 2014.

Fazoli’s, founded in 1988, operates 213 company-owned or franchise-operated locations in 26 states.

This is Fazoli’s fourth consecutive year celebrating National Lasagna Day with a free, savory meal. It began with the restaurant donating nine tons of lasagna to Feed the Children, a global relief organization, and offering all guests free lasagna.
