UDRI, Miamisburg company awarded $65M in military contracts

The University of Dayton Research Institute was awarded a $35 million contract to do research and development for Air Force electronic and optical applications for sensing devices, while a Miamisburg company received a $30.6 million Army supply contract.

The Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base issued UDRI an initial $50,000 work order on the research contract, the Defense Department announced. The work is to be done for the Air Force’s survivability and sensor materials division.

Mil-Mar Century Corp., of Miamisburg, was awarded a contract from the Army’s Tank-Automotive and Armament Command. The company is to provide load-handling systems compatible with water tank-rack systems in use on Army vehicles.

In addition, Boeing Co. was awarded a $44.6 million contract from the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson to provide three weapon system trainers, and support equipment, for C-17 aircraft.
