In a statement, Yu said he was honored to lead the organization. “The fact that we can boast of a full-time classical music station speaks of the extraordinary support of this community,” he said.
Station officials said Yu was selected from nearly 30 candidates from across the nation.
Yu relocated to Dayton from Portland, Ore., in 2007, when he was became WDPR’s first program director. He soon added mid-day on-air host to his responsibilities.
In Portland, Yu served as a morning host and producer at KBPS-AM; underwriting coordinator for Portland Public Radio Underwriting Inc.; and program director at KKJZ-FM.
