2-story with finished basement has many extras, upgrades

Nested gables above balanced portions of brick and stone create a pleasing facade for the two-story home at 963 Fairwater Springs Drive in Washington Twp.

Built in 2013 as an original model for Design Homes & Development Co. the home sits on a nearly 1-acre lot in The Springs at the Villages of Winding Creek.

“(As a former model home), it is loaded with many extras and quality upgrades,” said Jennifer Durbin of Irongate Inc. Realtors.

Owners added improvements of their own.

“They added the paver patio, the outdoor wood-burning fireplace and kitchen,” said Durbin.

Clean cut lines and neutral décor throughout the floor plan design seem to foster an avoidance of clutter. Owners have conscientiously cared for this home, which retains its like-new appearance.

One co-owner said they were drawn to own it for many reasons.

“We liked the quiet neighborhood, the large lot, the walk-in shower, the main-floor master suite and the multiple entertainment spaces,” she said. “Because I work from home, the office was important, too. And it’s an easy 40-minute drive to Cincinnati.”

Including the finished portions of the full basement, this home offers about 4,500 square feet of living space. Durbin has listed it for $624,900.

Sidelights and a wide transom frame the front door, which opens into a two-story entry with abundant natural light from a large boxed window placed high on the front wall. Acacia wood flooring warms the entry space and extends into the hallway, the formal dining room and the kitchen.

Wainscoting enhances the formal dining room, which has a tray ceiling and crown moldings. French doors enclose the office, where features include matching wainscoting and a cathedral ceiling.

Inset carpet cushions the great room, which enjoys a gas fireplace angled in one corner and framed in a white mantel and earth-toned ceramic tile facing. Transoms stretch above the wall of windows facing the patio and green space beyond it.

Sliding glass doors in the open breakfast area open to the chic outdoor gathering space with wide brick-paver flooring, a stone fireplace complete with raised hearth and chimney, and an outdoor kitchen with granite counters, built-in gas grill, a gas burner and a recessed cooler space.

“No matter what time of year it is, this home has plenty of space to entertain inside and outside,” said Durbin.

A center island separates the breakfast area from the kitchen, where oversized espresso-hued cabinets with upper moldings wrap around the L-shaped work space with granite counters and stone-look tile backsplashes. Stainless steel appliances include stacked wall ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator and a five-burner gas cooktop. Near the granite-countered coffee station the angled pantry door has a frosted glass insert.

Ceramic tile covers the floor in the triple area off the kitchen, which accommodates the central mudroom with a built-in storage bench, the half-bath with a designer vanity and the laundry room that accesses the oversized, three-car garage.

An entrance area with an art niche leads into the main-floor master suite, where the bedroom features a tray ceiling with crown moldings. In the bath an oval garden tub is set in ceramic tile and wood paneling and flanked by two separate vanities. Matching tile surrounds the step-in shower, which has an elongated entrance and a privacy lower wall around the showering space. Carpet cushions the floor in the walk-in closet

Edged with a partial railing overlooking the entry, the loft area is enhanced with a pan ceiling, triple windows and TV hookups.

Three bedrooms with walk-in closets share the hall bath, which has a raised vanity in the anteroom and tub-and-shower combo in the adjoining room.

On the lower level the carpeted recreation room offers plenty of space for game tables and a TV/media area. The workout room benefits from two mirrored walls, a boxed egress window and a double door closet. Nearby is a full bath. Indoor/outdoor carpet is installed in the large storage room.
