3-bedroom home set on irregular corner lot

This two-story home has had several exterior updates and most recently new flooring treatment installed.

Listed for $39,900 by Fisher and Associates Realty, the vinyl-sided home at 710 Springfield St. in Dayton has about 1,470 square feet of living space. The house sits on an irregular corner with mature trees, and an extra lot is available for an additional price. The house appears narrow from curbside but is long toward the back of the property.

Recently, the city installed new sidewalks and street improvement with a bike path. A city park is just two blocks away.

The home’s entry opens off the covered front porch into the central room, which could be a dining room or family room. There is a decorative wood mantel and tall side windows with wood trim that allows natural light and views of the side yard. Carpeting has been installed throughout the formal areas and upstairs within the past two months, and the interior has received a fresh coat of paint.

Off the central room is a parlor or family room. A decorative fireplace with wood mantel and wrought-iron screen is the centerpiece to the room. Original woodwork includes oversized baseboards and detailed corner accents around the tall windows. All the windows have been replaced with vinyl replacement windows. And the exterior vinyl-siding was installed at the same time the windows were replaced. Dimensional roof-singles were installed in 2004.

At the back of the house is the eat-in kitchen. New flooring treatment is scheduled to be installed. Cabinetry and countertops fill one wall and a window is above the double sink. Built-in cabinets and drawers are along the opposite wall, and there is room for a breakfast space. Laundry hook-ups are available within the kitchen area. A back door opens to a rear deck that is semi-private as a result of the landscaping and storage shed.

A door from the kitchen opens into a full bathroom, which has a step-in shower and single-sink vanity. Another door opens to the staircase to the cellar basement where the home’s mechanical systems are located.

The same area has a one step up to the staircase that leads to the second floor. The same staircase is accessible from the central room.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a full bathroom. All three bedrooms have single-door closets, overhead lights, tall windows and updated carpeting.

The full bathroom is located at the end of the hallway and has a claw-foot tub, a single-sink vanity and a linen closet. There is also a step-in closet off the hallway.
