The first show happened Feb. 1, with a pause afterward while the wrestling venue area of the property at 190 N. Brookwood Ave. was brought up to city codes. The second event was held Feb. 15, but afterward, city inspectors required minor changes that have been made, LeVick said.
“All we had to do was get a couple more batteries in the exit-sign lights, and we should be good to go,” he said Wednesday. “Those were delivered yesterday, so they’re being put in today. They just need to come back for an inspection. We’re planning on having the show because those are minor details that shouldn’t impede us.”
For tonight’s event, “We have a former WWE superstar coming in,” he said.
But “I can’t tell you (who),” he said with a laugh. “That’s one of the great things about wrestling, sometimes when we have a WWE person coming in, we’ll announce it, and other times, it’s nice to surprise people.”
He’s famous enough that “avid wrestling fans would probably know him,” LeVick said. “He had a pretty good run there for a couple of years.”
“We’re trying to bring some good wrestling stars to Hamilton, on top of the stars that we have with Future Great Wrestling already,” LeVick said.
The first show sold out with 225 people, but because of uncertainty about whether the Feb. 15 event would happen, about 150 people attended. About 80 tickets remained Wednesday for tonight’s show.
Tickets cost $6 for general admission and $8 for front-row seats, although the front-row tickets sold out Tuesday night. Tickets can be purchased at Future Great Comics, 528 Main St., in Hamilton.
