You don't have to go to Hollywood to see a star.

Dayton, you are a star.

Some really Hollywood stars were spotted on the set of the movie “The Old Man and the Gun.” Scenes from the movie about a bank robber starring Robert Redford, Casey Affleck, Danny Glover, Sissy Spacek and others were filmed downtown Dayton and in the Liberty Tower on May 1-2, 2017.

Pretty exciting!!

Scenes for the movie, "'Old Man and the Gun," were filmed in downtown Dayton Monday. The movie stars Robert Redford (center) and Danny Glover (right) as well as Casey Affleck and Sissy Spacek. But this is just the latest in a string of celebrity spottings around Dayton.

DAVE CHAPPELLE

Dave Chappelle, our resident celebrity, is probably the most frequently spotted famous face around Yellow Springs when he isn't, you know, hosting Saturday Night Live or working on mega-million Netflix specials.

TOM HANKS
Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks was at Wright State University to dedicate the brand new Tom Hanks Center of Motion Pictures on April 19, 2016. The actor is also a director and producer. His film production company, Playtone, is collaborating with two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough on an HBO miniseries based on McCullough's New York Times No. 1 bestseller, "The Wright Brothers."

The Academy Award-winning actors , whose critically acclaimed films include “Forrest Gump,” “Philadelphia,” “Cast Away,” “Big,” and “Sleepless in Seattle," visited Fairborn in April 2016 to dedicate the Tom Hanks Center of Motion Pictures.

The center is part of the $27 million newly renovated and expanded Creative Arts Center at Wright State University.

SHERYL CROW 

The singer swung by the Dublin Pub, 300 Wayne Ave in Dayton's Oregon District,  while in town in June for a show at the Fraze.

She ordered the DubPub's delicious fish and chips, her favorite thing at the restaurant.

MAVIS STAPLES

The solo artist who got her start as part of the Staples Singers with her dad and siblings, gave numerous shout-outs to Wheat Penny Oven and Bar, 515 Wayne Ave., and its owner Elizabeth Wiley during her rocking performance in June at the Fraze.

Staples and her group visited Wheat Penny and order grilled shrimp and vegetables on polenta, pepperoni gumbo, eggplant fries, green beans and pizza.

NAOMI CAMPBELL, GAYLE KING, Q-TIP, BRADLEY COOPER

A plane full celebrities partied down with residents at Dave Chappelle's two-day Juke Joint at Yellow Springs'  Whitehall Farms.

They included rappers D-NiceTalib Kweli and Q-Tip, CBS News' Gayle King, actor Bradley Cooper, model/actress Naomi Campbell, comedian Donnell Rawlings and magician David Blaine.

The actor and director was in Dayton in March with Divided Films filming for the EPIX network documentary series called "America Divided."

PRETTY MUCH ALL OF "THE WEST WING"

Richard SchiffBradley WhitfordDulé HillJoshua Malina and Mary McCormack and Dayton's very own Allison Janney (AKA Toby, Josh, Charlie, Will, Kate and C.J. from the NBC's "The West Wing" ) canvassed  Dayton for Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton in September.

Donald Trump's

famous children haven't made it to Dayton, but they have come close.

Ivanka Trump toured Middletown Tube Works and spoke to several female business leaders earlier this month.

His namesake, Donald Jr.,  spoke to Miami University students Sunday.

JOHN LEGEND 

The Grammy and Academy award winning singer and Springfield native visited Dayton and several other Ohio cities on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

He was also in Springfield for the opening of the John Legend Theater at the Springfield Center of Innovation: The Dome.

The *NSYNC singer in September met with Wright State University students on the university's Quad and talked about why he supports Hillary Clinton, according to Petey L. Peterson, the university's director of LGBTQA Affairs.

Bass also stopped by Wheat Penny.

Wright State and the restaurant showed up on LOGO TV.

The actor was spotted in Yellow Springs not once but twice in 2016.

Ashley Jenkins the  owner of Ashley Jenkins Photography took a selfie with him after spotting the "American Sniper" with Chappelle at Dino's Cappuccinos, 225 Xenia Ave.
