4 area restaurants offering free or cheap grub for Tax Day

Area restaurants are trying to entice tax-weary patrons with deals throughout the day.

Arby’s restaurants are giving away free curly fries, and 15 cents will buy you a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese at McDonald’s.

Here’s a roundup with details of Tax Day deals area restaurants are offering :

• McDonald’s restaurants in the Miami Valley will offer customers who purchase a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese a second sandwich of the same type for 15 cents more.

The burgers’ regular price is about $3.50.

The chain is offering 15 percent discount on orders at all restaurants and online now through Monday.

• Sonic Drive-In is offering half-price drinks and slushies all day. The restaurant even has a tax day game on its website that is sure to annoy your pod-mate if you play it at your desk.

• Columbus-based White Castle is also in a giving mood.

White Castle fans can find a coupon for the Tax Day deal on White Castle's Facebook page or by logging onto White Castle's website.

• Not to be outdone, Arby’s is giving away free curly fries.

The chain restaurant with multiple area locations will give away free curly fries and potato cakes as part of its third annual Tax Day Curly Fry Giveaway.

Customers can also register to win one of 10 $500 “tax relief payouts”

Lisa Jablon, a spokeswoman for the company, said the coupon for a “Value Sized Curly Fries or Small Potato Cakes” will be valid at participating Arby’s locations during regular business hours Monday, April 15.
