Eatery makes splash with pickle soup, fried pickles, cheese-stuffed burgers

Two of the restaurant’s most popular dishes are all about pickles:

• There’s the pickle soup — a creamy concoction swimming with grated dill and chunks of potatoes, carrots and, yes, dill pickles ($4 for a bowl or $2.50 for a cup).

• And then there are the bourbon-dipped fried pickles — dill pickle spears fried in a spicy bourbon batter ($5). The surprisingly crispy appetizers are served with tzatziki sauce.

Bob’s also has a handful of good salads — the Southwest salad is a favorite. At Bob’s, burgers take center stage.

The Ragin Cajun is a half-pound ground beef patty covered in Cajun seasoning, topped with bleu cheese and stuffed with crispy bacon and even more bleu cheese ($10).

The Ragin Cajun is a solid, flavorful burger with plenty of “juice.”
