New Italian deli opens in Kettering

The owner of Palermo’s Restaurant in Kettering has helped launch a deli and Italian carryout inside the newly rebuilt Shell gas station, car wash and market at 3960 Far Hills Ave. in Kettering.

Papa’s Pizza, Pasta & Deli is co-owned by Palermo’s founder Mefail “Meef” Demnika and by Koli Gashi, who is managing the deli. It offers pizza by the slice or by the whole pie, meatball subs, Italian subs, calzones and pasta dishes such as baked ziti. It also sells deli sandwiches with choice of bread made by Rahn’s Artisan Breads, and lunchmeat is available by the pound.

“It’s not like your normal gas-station food,” Demnika said.

Delivery is available for order of $15 or more. Demnika said the deli is carryout and delivery only for now, but seating may be added in the future.

The Shell station and car wash on Ohio 48 at Stroop Road across from the Town & Country shopping center was razed and rebuilt earlier this year.

Papa’s Pizza, Pasta & Deli is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call (937) 999-4276.
