“The Jungle Book”

A cast of five actors, courtesy of Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s Off the Hill Series, will perform a modern retelling of the Rudyard Kipling classic about a young “man-cub” and the jungle animals who seek to either protect or devour him. Boo Fest at Liberty Center

This family-friendly Halloween party includes a pet parade, live music, pumpkin painting, a magic show, and trick-or-treating. Hanover Haunted Harvest for Kids

This kid-oriented fall event includes candy, refreshments, a costume contest, and a pumpkin decorating contest for kids aged 2 and up. The Ghosts of Benninghofen

Benninghofen is an Italianate home built in the 1860s. Its primary inhabitant is Wilhelmina Benninghofen. Trouble is, she passed away in 1890. Ghost hunters are encouraged to bring their own equipment to commune with her and other spirits. If you don’t have equipment, divining rods will be available onsite. Check it out at Benninghofen House, 327 N. 2nd St., Hamilton, on Oct. 28 from 6:30-9 p.m. Reservations are required and open only to members of the Butler County Historical Society (you can become a member on the night of the event). Nelly

The Grammy-winning Nelly is the fourth best-selling rap artist in American music history, with 21 million albums sold. His last album was 2013’s “M.O.” See him at BB&T Arena, 500 Louie B. “White Christmas”

A holiday classic that’s up there with “It’s A Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Carol,” this musical version of the 1954 movie starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney follows two WWII veterans who form a successful song-and-dancing team after the war. On their way to their Christmas show in Vermont, they try to romance a pair of singing sisters. See it at La Comedia Dinner Theatre, 765 W. Central Ave., Springboro, on Nov. 1-Dec. 30. Dailey & Vincent

This bluegrass group has won 13 International Bluegrass Music Association awards and has been nominated for two Grammys. “Rumpelstiltskin”

The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati will perform this classic fairy tale about a miller’s daughter, her boastful father, a handsome prince, and the miracle of spinning straw into gold. Maureen McGovern: A Long Winding Road

Maureen McGovern is a singer and Broadway actress best known for singing the theme songs for the films, “The Poseidon Adventure” and “The Towering Inferno.” Her latest album, “A Long Winding Road,” is a tribute to 1960s songwriters such as Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, and Lennon-McCartney.
