Neon, Coco’s cook up ‘I Am Love’ deal

DAYTON — The Neon Movies and Coco’s Bistro are teaming up for a dinner and movie offer in conjunction with the new Tilda Swinton film “I Am Love,” which opens Friday, July 9.

“If you see the movie here first, your ticket stub will get you 15 percent off your dinner there,” said Neon manager Jonathan McNeal, who worked out the deal with Coco’s owner Karen Wick. “If you have dinner at Coco’s first, your receipt get you a buy one, get one free at the Neon.”

Wick has created a special recipe, inspired by the movie.

Her “Prawn-ographic Risotto” refers to something Swinton told an interviewer about a sexy scene in the film that includes food. She called it “prawn-ography.”

McNeal said “I Am Love,” which is a favorite among “foodies,” was the best of more than 30 films he watched during the 2010 Toronto Film Festival.

“It’s an exquisite film and Tilda Swinton is amazing. I’m hoping we will have it for a least a couple of weeks; longer if it does well.”
