Wandering Griffin brewpub now open

The Dayton area's newest brewpub, Wandering Griffin Brewery & Pub across from Wright State University in Beavercreek, will host a ribbon-cutting in conjunction with the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce at noon today, Friday Dec. 2.

As part of the grand opening, Wandering Griffin is offering 10 percent off all sandwiches and $2 off select Christmas beers today and Saturday, Dec. 3, Beavercreek chamber officials said in a release.

The 10,000-square-foot brewpub — located at the former Quaker Steak & Lube space at 3725 Presidential Drive off Colonel Glenn Highway — seats an estimated 270 inside. The brewpub’s Wanderlust coffee bar is open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the brewpub and kitchen are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Young’s Beef on Weck, consisting of thinly sliced tri-tip beef on a weck roll with caraway seeds, dipped in au jus and served with fresh horseradish. Entrees include Lemon IPA Roasted Chicken and Pork Belly Mac & Cheese.

It will be several months before Wandering Griffin starts brewing its own beers, but pours beers from other breweries, with an emphasis on local breweries, from its 30 craft taps.

Quaker Steak & Lube operated for 13 years in the space before shutting down in October 2015.
