“Fantasy Fling” is the theme of Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret XIV, and the soiree promises to be full of costumes and reverie.

“I guess fantasy really comes down to being your imagination. What you make it,” says co-organizer Matthew Smith, who with his friend Zattana Al-Naseem, took over duties hosting Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret this year.
“When I think of fantasy, I think of the mythical creatures,” Smith said. “I’ve always been fond of the fairies and the fey creatures. All the fantasy creatures that come from all the way back to Shakespeare and before.”
The fantasy creatures will be out this Saturday for sure. So strap on your wings and come out to a unique, adults-only party.

Femme Fatale Fitness will beguile guests with the aerial arts that have become a staple of Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret events. With over 10 years in the community, Femme Fitale Fitness provides aerial, dance, and group fitness classes at their Kettering location.
DaShane “StarFox” Watkins will once again show off his talents in the art of fire spinning this Saturday. Watkins, who founded the electronic world music group Dramatic Rhythms, is a performer and musician based out of Cincinnati.
Guests will also feast their eyes on belly dancing by Troupe Roja and Miss Stixen Stones and burlesque from Troupe Hëxa.

New to Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret XIV this time around is Band of Pirates. This Cincinnati group dresses up as (you guessed it) pirates and sings original songs about plunderin’ the seven seas.
“For us, playing at historically anachronistic, friendly pirates, while in the company of others in roles and garb of their own creative expression, is always a joyful and fulfilling experience,” says Band of Pirates’ Robert the Dread Pirate.
Additional music will be provided by Echo Mecca and DJ V Ral.
So many treasures await you
One of the most exciting parts of Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret is the awesome vendor area, where you can purchase anything from handmade clothes and jewelry to figurines, books, and stuffed animals.
Alex Coleman, who runs a booth called Book of Holding with his wife, Kathy, said, “For us, fantasy is an escape from the everyday, allowing us to do anything we could imagine. We both play fantasy RPGs and we love them so much, that we created a line of themed soaps, shaped like the iconic d20, with scents that invoke the characters we love to play.”
Also on-site this time around at Ye Olde Yellow Cabaret Fantasy Fling is Lilia’s Outside Cafe, serving sliders and salads. Drinks from Yellow Cab Tavern’s full bar will also be available.
