Kinkead Ridge will bookend the weekend by being open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31 and Monday, Sept. 2 (it is closed on Sunday because it cannot sell or serve samples of wines on Sundays) for tastings of new releases at the winery at 904 Hamburg St. just east of downtown Ripley and vineyard tours at the vineyard at 4288 Kinkead Road near Ripley. The new releases include 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot.

The Meranda-Nixon winery at 6517 Laycock Road near Ripley will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2.
