BEAVERCREEK — Young readers will have the chance to meet Jeff Stone, author of children’s series “The Five Ancestors,” in Beavercreek.

Stone’s book tour for “Dragon,” the seventh book and series finale, will take him to Books & Co. at The Greene at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26.

Earlier in the day, he will visit Normandy Elementary School in Dayton and Harold Schnell Elementary in West Carrollton.

“The Five Ancestors,” a martial-arts action-adventure series, tells the story of five young warrior-monks who survive the burning of China’s Cangzhen Temple in the 17th century. Each character holds the name of the animal-inspired kung-fu style he has mastered.

“Dragon” has dominated Amazon’s martial arts best-sellers list in both print and e-book versions.

“Kids have been asking for years what’s going to happen,” Stone said. “There is a lot of cliff-hanging elements; this has been a way to tie up all the strings.”

The series has printed more than 500,000 copies in 12 languages.

At both the schools and the store, Stone will discuss his writing career, the rich history of China and his journey to earn a black belt in kung fu. Kids will also have the chance to learn the essentials of the Dragon style of kung fu.

Although Stone has toured the Dayton area promoting past publications, this will be his first tour with an accompanying writing contest. Young fans can complete a short story by Stone in the Five Ancestors Grandmaster Writing Challenge. Winners will receive E-Cooler book readers or signed books.

“It’s a great idea and has been a lot of fun,” Stone said of the contest.

He said he looks forward to touring.

“It’s fun to get out to stores and schools and talk to kids of all ages.”
