>> UPDATED: 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17: Additional tickets have been made available to Dave Chappelle’s Juke Joint nights planned for 8 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, but you had better act fast if you want to go.
Chappelle’s team has opened up $50 barnyard-only tickets on the event’s website.
The ticket reads: “The barnyard will include a big screen monitor, limited seating, drinks and concessions. In case of inclement weather, guests will have access to a closed and covered area.”
The event’s premium and general admission tickets sold out quickly Sunday evening.
>> UPDATE 7:30 p.m. Sunday April 14: We have bad news for folks still hoping to grab a ticket to Dave Chappelle’s bash this weekend.
Both nights of Dave Chappelle’s Juke Joint planned for April 20 and April 21 are sold out.
Tickets were officially gone in about 90 minutes.
DavesJukeJoint.com apparently had a difficult time handling the fan traffic and at time displayed error messages and script.
>> ORIGINAL STORY: Ain’t no party like a Dave Chappelle party, and tickets are about to go on sale for Dave Chappelle’s next party in Yellow Springs.
Tickets will go on sale 6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, for the comedian’s Juke Joint planned for Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21.
As in the past, the party will feature hip-hop legend DJ D-Nice and musician Frederic Yonnet and the Band with No Name.
The show is to feature a tribute to the late singer and actor Prince.
Yonnet played harmonica for the artist who died in 2016.
Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karen Wintrow said the party puts Yellow Springs on the map for a few days and is a way Chappelle gives back to the community.
Many of those who attend the party — about 1,000 people attended each night in the past — are Yellow Springs residents.
“It is an opportunity for locals to see Dave in action and hear some great music,” she said. “It is a fun event that is really unlike anything else in Yellow Springs.”
Tickets will be sold on DavesJukeJoint.com, according to a flyer on the site. No additional details are available at this time.
The 2018 dance party sold out in 15 minutes, according to a post from Yonnet.
Actress Amy Schumer was among the celebrities spotted at Chappelle’s sold-out 2018 Juke Joint in a teched out barn on Whitehall Farms in the Tecumseh Land Trust.
At the 2016 Juke Joint at the barn, local residents danced the house down with a list of celebs that included rappers Talib Kweli and Q-Tip, CBS News' Gayle King, actor Bradley Cooper, model/actress Naomi Campbell, comedian Donnell Rawlings and magician David Blaine.
