🍻INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: BEER TAPPING AND CELEBRATION AT STAR CITY BREWING COMPANY
Yet again, Star City Brewing Company in Miamisburg is looking to celebrate the accomplishments of women - specifically when it comes to brewing top-notch beers.
On Saturday, March 7, the brewery will be celebrating these women with a performance by Rachel Litteral Music and Company from 7-9 p.m. and a tapping of a beer made by the female bartenders and friends at Star City Brewing Company.
The beer, Everything but the Coconut Style, is a key lime and jalapeno spin on the brewery’s popular Great Miami Gose. As an added bonus, they added a bit of pink Himalayan sea salt to the brew.
Female visitors to the brewery on this day have the chance to win a spot on the female brew team for their International Women’s Day beer of 2021. The rules of the contest will be announced on the day of the event.
The brewery will also be donating a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Artemis Center, a domestic abuse treatment center located in Dayton.

🍻INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY AT FIFTH STREET BREWPUB
This year, the Fifth Street Brewpub is celebrating International Women’s Day and International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day by brewing a special concoction in collaboration with YWCA Dayton.
Further, in honor of the YWCA’s 150th anniversary, the brewpub will be naming its newest beer after Mabel Evens, who became the first African-American woman to join YWCA’s board in 1932. The beer, Mabel’s Leap, is “half malted barley, 25% raw wheat and 25% Ohio malted corn. A cereal grain aroma with some sweetness from the corn. Bread dough and corn flake flavors abound with a clean husky finish,” according to the event’s Facebook page.
Throughout the event, the brewpub will donate 5 percent of all sales, all collected donations and $1 of each pour to YWCA Dayton. They will continue to donate a dollar of each pour of Mabel’s Leap to the YWCA for as long as the seven-barrel flows.
