Grandin is credited with revolutionizing practices for the humane treatment of livestock animals. She was the subject of the 2010 movie "Temple Grandin" starring Claire Danes.

She did not talk until she was 3 years old, but now Grandin is a sought-after speaker on topics related to autism and animal behavior.

Her talk Thursday will center around educating students who have different kinds of minds.
