“We want to give one lucky couple a good start to life by winning this gorgeous engagement ring,” said EDC owner Sonu Singhvi.
Couples will begin the scavenger hunt at EDC and, weather permitting, travel throughout Centerville on foot completing a sequence of clues leading them back to EDC where the ring will be awarded to the couple that has most successfully and efficiently completed the clues. That is when, Singhvi assures, one member of the winning couple will get down on one knee and propose.
So what exactly is so special about this ring that will have couples racing around Centerville for four hours solving clues based on Dayton’s musical history?
Aside from the monetary value of the ring ($20,000), Singhvi said the ring is handmade, top-of-the-line, and something that “every girl wants but not everyone can have.”
Participants will also receive a $250 gift certificate to use toward the purchase of an engagement ring at EDC.
Registration for the scavenger hunt will begin March 6 and costs $25 per couple. The money raised from the registrations will be donated to the ARC. Singhvi hopes to raise between $5,000 and $10,000.
Only 200 couples will be randomly selected and participants must compete in the scavenger hunt as a couple.
“That’s how they are going to continue their life forward — as a team,” said Singhvi.
