Oliver North to talk Friday at The Greene

BEAVERCREEK — Ret. Col. Oliver North will make a brief stop at Books & Co. at The Greene on Friday, Aug. 21.

North will discuss his latest book, “American Heroes,” from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the 4453 Walnut St. store.

North’s appearance will be a kind of pre-party for the Sean Hannity Freedom Concert to be held at Kings Island at 7 p.m. that day, said Nick Roberts, WHIO News Talk Radio program director.

WHIO radio and Hannity present and sponsor the Kings Island date for the Freedom Concert. The Freedom Concerts are a series of concert taking place at various venues across the country.

At the Kings Island event, North and Hannity will speak and Billy Ray Cyrus, the Charlie Daniels Band, Michael W. Smith and Lee Greenwood will perform.

The autograph line at Books & Co. will start at 11 a.m. Those attending must have their store receipt from their “American Heroes” purchase to get in line.

North has written other books, including “Under Fire,” “One More Mission,” “War Stories — Operation Iraqi Freedom,” “War Stories: Heroism in the Pacific” and “War Stories III: The Heroes Who Defeated Hitler.”

He founded the Freedom Alliance, which provides scholarships for the children of service members killed in military action.
