Woman killed in 3-vehicle crash on I-71 South in Greene County

A woman was killed as a result of a three-vehicle crash involving two tractor-trailers Thursday morning on Interstate 71 in Greene County.

The crash happened at 8:50 a.m. on I-71 South in Jefferson Twp. near the border with Clinton County.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Tiffany J. Miller of Marion by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wilmington Post.

A 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by Ralphinia E. Rose, 63, of Providence, Kentucky, was headed south on I-71 near mile post 60 when it struck a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Miller.

The impact forced the Honda into the back of a 2015 International tractor-trailer driven by Weldon Baisden, 61, of Norwalk.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Baisden and Rose suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, but Rose’s juvenile female passenger was flown to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.

The patrol was assisted at the scene by the New Jasper Twp. Fire Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Coroner’s Office.
