Woman injured in drive-by shooting Sunday

A drive-by shooting was reported early Sunday in Dayton that injured one person.

Dayton police responded to reports of a shooting at 2:08 a.m. in the area of North Main Street and East Parkwood Drive, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch center.

“A 46-year-old female victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life threatening injury,” according to Sgt. Andrew Zecchini at the Dayton Police Department.

A 911 caller said “somebody got shot — a woman” and that the victim was shot in the leg.

A second 911 caller told a dispatcher that someone in a dark gray four-door car drove by and shot the victim in the leg.

Additional details are not yet available, but detectives from the Dayton Police Department’s Violent Offender Unit are investigating the incident.
