Bledsoe, Combs, Zbinden elected to Huber Heights school board

Candidates Kelly Bledsoe, Mark Combs, and Steven Zbinden have been elected to the Huber Heights school board, according to final, unofficial results from the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

Results show 31.26% of votes were cast for Bledsoe, 28.49% for Combs, 21.16% for Zbinden, and 19.09% for candidate Barb Mirlisena.

Results will be certified by the board of elections on Nov. 19.

In responses to a recent Dayton Daily News questionnaire, the three winning candidates shared their reasons for running and plans for office.

Combs said he plans to prioritize fiscal responsibility, along with the unification of Huber Heights school administrators, education associations and the community.

Bledsoe said his top priorities include student achievement, hiring/retaining the best staff and “prudent” fiscal management.

Zbinden’s top priorities include supporting school staff, ensuring students have the resources necessary to succeed and continuing to support a secure learning environment, he said recently.
