Flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of former Vice President Walter Mondale in Ohio

Gov. Mike DeWine ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor and memory of former U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale.

U.S. and Ohio flags will be flown at half-staff at all public buildings and grounds in the state until sunset his internment.

Mondale, who served as former President Jimmy Carter’s vice president died Monday. He was 93 years old.

No cause of death was cited, according to the Associated Press.

Mondale also ran for president in 1984, losing to Ronald Reagan.
