Machines removed from Huber Heights pool hall in gambling investigation

Investigators removed four machines from a Huber Heights pool hall early Thursday afternoon while serving a search warrant.

The Ohio Investigative Unit served the warrant at Action Palace at 5605 Old Troy Pike in connection to a gambling complaint, according to the OIU.

As part of the investigation, agents played on the machines on multiple occasions and received cash payouts, said Olivia Polivick, OIU public information officer.

Agents allegedly saw other patrons also receiving cash payouts.

While executing the search warrant agents seized four gambling machines and approximately $1,000, Polivick said. Crews also issued four administrative violation notices against the liquor permit reflecting the gambling violations.

A criminal summons was issued to the liquor permit holder for gambling and operating a gambling house.

A sign from the OIU was on the pool hall’s door stating it was temporarily closed.

Crews were seen wheeling black storage containers into the business and exiting with the containers and four machines, which were loaded into a black van.

Huber Heights police assisted OIU agents at the scene.
