An unsubstantiated bomb threat overheard at Stebbins High School resulted in a temporary lockdown as police investigated Thursday morning.

The lockdown started at 8:39 a.m. and was lifted at 9:50 a.m., said Jennifer Alexander, Mad River Local Schools public information officer.

Riverside police responded to the school for a report of suspicious people in the parking lot. A student reported hearing the people refer to a bomb, according to police.

The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base K-9 unit swept the lot and crews cleared the school. Nothing was found.

Police allowed students and faculty to return to school and classes resumed.

Riverside police are continuing to investigate.
