UPDATE: Alcohol may have been a factor in deadly Miamisburg crash; Investigation ongoing

One person was killed early Saturday after a car crashed into a tree and caught fire in Miamisburg.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Coldstream Court, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

When crews arrived, they found the vehicle engulfed, Miamisburg police said.

Nearby homes were evacuated while crews worked to extinguish the fire.

“Once the fire was extinguished, the driver and only occupant was found deceased in the driver’s seat,” read a press release from police.

The driver has not yet been identified.

No foul play is suspected, but alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to police.
