2 people shot in gunfire exchange that led to crash in Dayton

Two people were taken to the hospital after a reported shooting in Dayton early this morning.

Emergency crews responded at 2:45 a.m. to the 4900 block of West Riverview Avenue on a report of people shooting at each other, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center records.

Dispatchers said 911 callers reported people inside two vehicles were exchanging gunfire, and that one of the vehicles crashed.

Crews found two people who had been shot, and took them to Miami Valley Hospital in unknown condition.
