What’s the final record rainfall tally for Dayton, other Ohio cities, after Friday storms?

The total rainfall records for Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton were broken Friday with the final tally updated early Saturday morning.

Dayton’s new and final maximum rainfall was set at 2.70 inches, Cincinnati at 2.08 inches and Columbus at 1.60 inches on Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The old record for Dayton was in 1953 with 1.21 inches. In 1977, Cincinnati saw a record of 1.40 inches. Lastly, Columbus’s old record 1.31 inches in 2019.
