Dayton police again to relocate mobile speed cameras

The Dayton Police Department will move its mobile speed enforcement trailers today to Wilmington Avenue.

The trailers, which automatically record the license plates of speeding vehicles, have been parked on Harshman Road near Eastwood Lake for weeks.

The devices will be moved to the 900 block today. Enforcement begins immediately, without a warning period.

The police department’s third trailer will remain on the 3300 block of North Main Street.

The trailers seek to change dangerous driving behaviors and reduce accidents, city officials say.

The trailers are deployed to areas based on traffic crash data or citizen complaints about dangerous driving.
