Centerville park district adds nearly 7 acres from auto dealership

The Centerville-Washington Park District acquired 6.7 acres of land from Voss Automotive Group Monday, adding to the district’s existing neighborhood parks.

The parcel of land is located on Loop Road, next the Village of South Park, which is also managed by the park district. The new land expands the existing neighborhood to over 17 acres.

“This parcel of land complements the Zengel Pleasant Hill property purchase of September 2016. These two acquisitions preserve rare, wooded habitat right in the center of the community,” said Arnie Biondo , the Director of the Centerville - Washington Park District. The Zengel property is a 32 -acre parcel of land located a approximately one mile from the newly acquired land.

A Clean Ohio Fund grant was granted to the park district, covering $94,065 — or 75 percent— of the purchase.

The land is currently undeveloped and will remain undeveloped, according to a press release by the park district.

The Centerville-Washington Park District operates eight community parks, nine nature parks, and 33 neighborhood parks encompassing more than 1,000 acres in Centerville and Washington Township.
