“The building has a good design. It meets all of our requirements. Costco has done a very good job of including the kind of landscaping elements we envisioned for Cornerstone of Centerville,” he said.
Construction of the members’ warehouse club could begin early next year and be open in November.
The commission also recommended approval of the final development plan for the overall phase one of Cornerstone, which includes outlots along Wilmington and Feedwire as well as the Costco complex.
Centerville City Council will have the final say on that. A public hearing on the phase one plan is expected to be on the agenda Nov. 21.
No other retail tenants have been identified for Cornerstone, but Oberer said there has been a lot of interest, some from major companies.
Cornerstone will be constructed in several phases on more than 150 acres located between Wilmington Pike, I-675, Feedwire and Brown roads.
