Village Manager Julie Duffy said council is taking applications and resumes for any resident interested in completing McEldowney’s term which expires on Dec. 31, 2019. She said council will be taking resumes and letters of interest from interested residents until 4 p.m. Aug. 10. Council has 60 days to select a person to be appointed to the vacant at-large seat. Candidates must be a Carlisle resident for one continuous year and a registered voter to be considered.
McEldowney has been a teacher with the Miamisburg City Schools since 2006. As a council member, he has served as deputy mayor and as secretary to the Planning Commission.
Last month, the Fairfield Board of Education approved his hiring as an assistant principal at East Elementary School, according to school spokeswoman Gina Gentry-Fletcher. He received a two-year contract with an annual salary of $65,000.
