A $60,000 surgical tool is missing from West Chester Hospital, according to a police report.

The tool, a Medical Enterprises ME 1000, is used in orthopaedic surgeries, according to the manufacturer’s website. It turned up missing from West Chester Hospital sometime before 11 a.m. May 18, according to a police report.
Township spokeswoman Barb Wilson said the tool was either “lost or stolen” from the hospital and the case is under investigation.
