‘All clear’ given at Miami Twp. Walmart following bomb threat

Police said no suspicious items were found after a bomb threat forced an evacuation of the Miami Township Walmart early Sunday morning.

An employee discovered a threat written on the bathroom wall of the store at 8800 Kingsridge Drive in Miami Township around 12:25 a.m. Sunday. Police said less than 100 customers and employees were in the store at the time, but were evacuated from the building.

Four K9 officers were requested from Dayton police and Dayton Airport police, along with Wright State University Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The store was deemed safe and was allowed to reopen around 2 a.m. after a 90 minute closure.

No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation.
