Fairborn police said in a press release that officers began their investigation at around 9:30 p.m.when they heard three gunshots near the downtown while investigating a different complaint. It was around that time they were told a 911 call had come in alerting them to a shooting in the 200 block of Ohio Street and multiple people were leaving the scene in a black colored sedan.

“Officers arrived on scene on Ohio St. and located an adult male subject who had visible gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg areas,” the release says. “The subject was examined by Fairborn Fire Department and transported to a medical facility for further treatment with non-life threatening injuries.”

Officers were able to collect evidence and talk to witnesses at the scene, according to the release. At the same time, other officers located a 2020 Toyota Camry that matched the vehicle description with multiple people in the car. The people also matched the description given by witnesses, according to the release.
