A judge set bond at $1 million on Tuesday for a Hamilton man charged with multiple counts of child rape.
Daniel W. Broxterman, 56, of Brookwood Drive, was indicated by a Butler County grand jury last week on 10 charges of rape, two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and gross sexual imposition, according to court records.
Butler County Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Heile said the crimes involve multiple victims. The alleged crimes occurred between April 2014 and and June, according to the indictment.
A rape report was made to Hamilton Police on July 22, which is when the investigation began. Rape reports were also filed on Aug. 2 and Aug. 4, according to police records.
“This involved local victims,” said Hamilton Police Chief Craig Bucheit.
He said anyone who knows about other victims or with additional information should contact police at 513-868-5811, ext. 2002.
Butler County Common Pleas Judge Charles Pater set the $1 million bond during arraignment. Broxterman is scheduled to be back in court Sept. 3 for a pre-trial hearing.
