Bonds were set at $100,000 for two local men who allegedly robbed a Middletown credit union this week.

Jason Coolidge, 41, of Middletown, and Kevin Blackford, 42, of Franklin, appeared for their arraignments this morning before visiting Judge Tom Hanna in Middletown Municipal Court. He set their preliminary hearings for 1:30 p.m. May 3.

They both remain in the Middletown City Jail.

They’re charged with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

According to Middletown police, Coolidge and Blackford were arrested shortly after the Butler Heritage Credit Union, 660 N. University Blvd., was reportedly robbed about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the suspect allegedly handed the teller a note demanding “all of the money” and indicated he had a loaded gun and that he would shoot.
