Crews called to 2 shootings in Dayton; 3rd gunshot victim dropped off at hospital

Police and medics were called Tuesday evening for two gunshot victims in Dayton, and a third shooting victim was dropped off at a hospital following gunfire that may have injured up to four people.

The shooting was reported at 6:45 p.m. at the Save A Lot Food Store, 2152 N. Gettysburg Ave., where a woman was shot on her right side.

“We were waiting on a friend to come outside to pick them up and they just drove by and started shooting,” the friend of the victim told a 911 operator.

Another 911 caller outside Save A Lot said three people were shot, but when crews arrived, only the woman was there. She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, and Dayton police said her injuries were not life-threatening.

Dayton police found a man who had been shot around 6:50 p.m. in the 3500 block of Stanford Place in Dayton. He also was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, but his condition was not known.

A third gunshot victim, also a man, was dropped off at Miami Valley Hospital by the driver of a silver Dodge Magnum that immediately left. That shooting also was reported to have happened on the city’s west side.

There were reports that a another man also was shot on Stanford Place, where there were reports that cars and houses were hit.

No other information on suspects or the conditions was available.
