Dad with 8 kids in tow arrested for OVI; wife arrested next day

A man driving with eight children in his vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

William R. Siedling, 50, of Kettering, is charged with OVI and eight counts of endangering children after police pulled him over Oct. 12 in the 1900 block of West Stroop Road.

Siedling was stopped after he committed a red light violation, according to police. He showed obvious signs of alcohol consumption and refused to take a sobriety test on the scene.

He was taken to Kettering Jail.

The children, ranging in age from 8 to 15 years old, were released to family members.

The next day, an officer was dispatched to the Kettering Police Department lobby to deal with an intoxicated female who was attempting to pass a note to Siedling through a jailer.

The female, Kelly R. Siedling, 46 of Kettering, is his wife.

As officers responded, she left and was found intoxicated in the 3700 block of Shroyer Road. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Kettering Jail.
