A Greenville doctor's license was suspended after he admitted to a sexual relationship with a patient and other violations.

Dr. Shane Sampson had his license suspended on Dec. 14 as part of an agreement with the State Medical Board of Ohio, which included him admitting to allegations brought against him in July.

According to public records, Sampson "on or about July 30, 2013, [he] began a sexual relationship with [a patient] which continued until on or about Dec. 31, 2013."

The allegations also indicated that Sampson did not properly document prescriptions of controlled substances to two different patients for a period of years, according to public documents from the state medical board.

Sampson's suspension is "for an indefinite period of time, but not less than 180 days," according to the agreement.

There are multiple conditions Sampson would have to meet for his license to be reinstated, which would include taking a controlled substances prescribing course and professional boundaries course.
