Someone posing as the pastor of three downtown Dayton churches is contacting parishioners and asking for gift cards, according to a police report.
Angelo Anthony told police that six parishioners have contacted him about receiving text messages.
The texts come from someone posing to be Anthony and tell the parishioners to buy $950 in gift cards and to text them the validation number, according to the report.
The texts have come from two phone numbers.
