Man shot twice by paintball gun while taking out trash in Dayton

A man was taking out the trash early Tuesday when he was shot twice with a paintball gun.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, told police he was hit on his left palm and left thigh around 1:30 a.m. outside his home in the 3400 block of Prescott Avenue, according to a Dayton police report.

The shooter was riding inside a black Dodge Charger with a spoiler, but the victim could not provide any further details.

The incident follows several reports of people being shot at with paintball guns, and the arrests Monday of three teens stemming from an incident Sunday on Shaftesbury Road.

In the Prescott Avenue paintball gun shooting, the victim’s hand showed signs of bruising, the report stated. The man’s home also was struck, with the siding “cracked and damaged on the wall to the left of his garage.”
