Bond set at $1M in family fight that left a cousin shot to death

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m. (April 17): Bond has been set at $1 million for Dwayne R. Marshall in the July 2017 shooting death of his cousin.

Bond was set at Marshall’s arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

EARLIER REPORT (April 13)

A family argument that turned deadly has resulted in a murder indictment against Dwayne R. Marshall, 30.

Marshall was indicted Friday by a Montgomery County grand jury on the following charges:

** Murder, (two counts) each with firearm specifications;

** Felonious assault with firearm specifications (two counts),

** Tampering with evidence (one count).

In July 2017, Dayton police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Catalpa Drive.

A fight between two cousins ended with a single gunshot. Dante Jones, Marshall's cousin, died at the scene.

Marshall initially left the scene, but later turned himself in.

He’s in the Montgomery County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
