The pursuit began after a sheriff’s detective spotted a black Ford Five Hundred sedan around 3:45 p.m. on Needmore Road that had been reported stolen Wednesday in Dayton. The car turned onto North Dixie Drive, where a marked sheriff’s cruiser activated its lights and sirens. The detective’s car, which had its emergency lights activated, was struck by the stolen car and pushed back. The stolen car then fled south on North Dixie Drive and was chased by several sheriff’s cruisers, the release stated.
