An arson investigator was called tonight after a dumpster fire melted siding on an apartment building.

Crews were called around 6:30 p.m. to the Summit Square Apartments, 616 Summit Square Drive.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before the flames caused about $2,000 damage to the outside of the building, according to fire officials.

Residents are not displaced after the fire, which remains under investigation.
