Gunpoint traffic stop on 725 results in arrest

MIAMISBURG — Police made a traffic stop at gunpoint on Ohio 725 just west of the Dayton Mall on Monday, Oct. 9, arresting a Harrison Twp. teen in connection with an altercation that happened moments earlier at a car wash at Ohio 725 and Yankee Street.

Darius Glover, 18, was arrested on counts of carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing around 3 p.m. Monday. Police found a loaded handgun in the trunk and a 3-month-old child in the car.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies first responded to Yankee Auto Bath in Washington Twp. at 2:54 p.m. Monday on a report of a fight and a man with a gun.

Witnesses said Glover and two young women drove to the car wash and began arguing with an employee about him being the father of one woman’s infant, according to the Sheriff’s office incident report. The report said people were slapping and punching each other when Glover pulled a handgun and held it at his side with his finger on the trigger.

After that trio fled the scene, Sheriff’s deputies and police from Miamisburg and Miami Twp. tracked the car and stopped it on 725 near the Toys R Us store, according to the report. They arrested Glover, turned the infant over to a relative, and eventually decided not to arrest the two women.
